week 11 reading number 2

This week we have had to do two tasks for reading a google drawing about the book that we read the duel the inventors awaken. We had to make a google drawing and the eyes on text that we have been doing for the last four weeks. This is my google drawing.

week 11 reading

For this weeks reading we had to do two tasks make a google drawing about the book we read the duel the invention awaken, and do the yes on text that we have been doing a lot here is the best eyes on text I did this week.

Next day was Thursday, market day. Stands of fruit and vegetables packed and the market place. Taro, kumara, breadfruit, greate branches of bananas, bundles of slippery spinach and beans, long beans flat beans, snake beans. When the old treasure was found, like a pumpkin were half a dozen tomatoes,  it was shared around the fleet. The yachties love the market not only for replenishing their stores but because it gave them the chance to catch up with all the gossip.

Did you enjoy my blog post?
Have you ever done eyes on text?

writing week 11

This week we have been writing 2 paragraphs for the story we wrote last week this is mine. The pink and purple highlighted paragraphs are the ones I wrote this week.

It was an icy cold day in Southern Antarctica. There was a glowing, white polar bear on a slice of slippery ice, just off the shore of Southern Antarctica. His name was Snowy, he had drifted all the way from the freezing cold icy north pole. It was a long cold lonely ride, he dined on Sardines and Squid. When he bit into them they made a squelching sound and were really chewy since they were not cooked in a burning oven. He was so excited because he could see land that looked cold and icy. The rushing waves started pulling him faster. The ice piece was quite small now so he had to hold on tight, if he let go he would die because he cannot swim. Then he saw an iceberg.

The iceberg was a lot bigger and wider than the one he was currently on, he wanted to make the jump but it was big and he was too little to be able to go in the icy cold water. But he was gonna fall in if he stayed on his slippery iceberg. He decided to jump but it was an 8 meter jump. He tried to jump but he didn't make it; he fell into the crystal blue icy water. It was 50 meters deep, he fell down 25 meters in a whopping 10 seconds. And 40 meters in a fast 15 seconds. By the time 20 seconds had struck he was at the bottom with such fear that he couldn't move.

Snowy was whelping and weeping at the bottom of the crystal blue water almost out of air, but then a miracle happened. His mother saw him. She didn't know it was him but she was lovely and risked her life to save her baby. By the time snowys mother was 25 meters down she was already out of breath but she kept going to save her beloved baby. She was about to quit at 40 meters but then she saw his face and tears flooded down her face in happiness. She was really struggling to get to the bottom, She was running out of breath, she didn't think she was gonna make it, but she had this drive inside of her that made her want to get to the bottom of the sea. Maybe it was because she was saving her baby or maybe it was because only 3 animals had ever made it to the bottom.  She grabbed on to snowy almost about to let go out of tiredness and no air she got to the top and snowy grabbed onto the slippery iceberg with his hole family his sisters, father and brother, but his mother didn't make it she ran out of breath and had sunk down 40 meters by the time her family noticed.

Writing week 10

For this weeks writing we had to fix these sentences by putting describing words in them.

We had to highlight the describing words.

Molly the pup lay on the cold soft snow. She looked at the crystal blue water. It was a bright sunny day. The wind was blowing in her hair.

The gassy vehicle broomed across the road. There was a loud car waiting to cross.

The crow flew across the icy blue sky and soar through the sky past the trees. It had fluffy black wings and a pointy beak.

The bird flew across the blue sky. It had big fluffy wings and yellow eyes like sunflowers. It saw something big, and went down towards the dirty ground.

A huge red tentacle came out of the crystal clear  water. The creature had a big pink head and small blue eyes as dark as the middle of the ocean.

We also had to write a paragraph with describing words about a picture that was on the doc we had to do it on this is the picture and the paragraph.

These are mine from each day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Despite Mr Meek being able to see for Miles around the top of the tree, there was absolutely no sign of fing anywhere. The wind blew across the deepest, darkest, jungliest, jungle and his thoughts Ted and to his darling daughter. as a father he couldn't let Myrtle down. He had to find a fing whatever it took. If not, there would be tears. Most likely his, not hers. He thought about home. While the sun was sitting across the jungle, Mr Meek pictured Mrs Meek putting Myrtle to bed. Right. about now, his wife could be reading.

Next morning a steady Breeze rippled the water across the bay.j The barometer was high, promising another hot day. this trade wind should help us make a fast passage, Jim said, having the barometer. Not too much taking either the direction we're heading in. He looked at the pile of basket ware still piled in the cockpit. Definitely not a purple bucket day.

Jessie followed Matt down below.  After all, it was her job to check things out. Unwashed dishes were stacked in the sink and the bench was piled  high with empty baked bean and spaghetti cans. A couple of dirty pots set on the shove  and banana skins littered on the table. She tried not to let the mess bother her.

It was early afternoon with Jazzy, Ryan and Chloe Rowed over to rags. With them they had the book of identifying which fish were edible in tropical Waters and which were dangerous to eat. It listed the symptoms of poisoning. They've left kate weaving. Ever since  they arrived in tonga she'd had this mad desire to weave baskets and she spent mega hours on them. She's already made 3 but they were all pretty more rectangular than round. She had her heart set on making a proper one.

We had to make a poster showing that we understand how to read decimals to three decimal places, and showing that we can explain it. Then we had to make a screencastify about the poster. This is my poster, if you want to see the screencastify go to one of my recent posts.

About Me

Hi my name is Caoimhe and today we have been learning cyber smart. We had a checklist of things we had to do such as make a poster of things that we can share publicly, like my pets name and favourite subject in school. Also in that poster we had to share the thing we think should be kept private. Then we had to pick four of the most important and explain why they should be public or private. For the other task we had to do, we had to make a poster about who we are like a picture of us, our name and age also what we want to be when we are older. We worked with Sharon and Mark they work at our school and help us with cyber smart. Here is my work this is both my posters. Please give feed back. Thanks.

I really hope you learnt something new about me. And you have learnt something new about what to keep private and public.

Have you ever done work with Sharon and Mark?
Do you know what to keep public and private?

Narrative writing

For this weeks writing task we had to write a narrative writing piece from the following ideas The Mirror In The Attic, Left Behind, Lightning Never Strikes Twice and Creature From The Deep. I picked the mirror in the attic. please enjoy, and give feedback.

“Ok fine mum I’m going to look in the attic now” said Nancy. Oh My Gosh
it's so dark up here I can't see anything. “Hurry up Nancy I need those
cleaning supplies”, spoke Joice (Nancy's mum). Nancy angrily ran around
the attic looking for the cleaning supplies. Nancy couldn't find anything,
and there was nothing in the boxes.

Then she remembered her mum said she was not allowed to go in the
cupboard beside the stairs, that made her eagerly want to go in, so she did.
Not caring what her mum said. She opened the cupboard door and in the
cupboard there were two shielfs, a small one at the top and a big one at the
bottom. On the top, there was the cleaning supplies. But on the bottom
there was a mysteries mirror, With black edging.

“Mum, I found them,” said Nancy. There was no answer. Nancy got
worried and tried to run downstairs but there was some sort of shield
holding her back. “MUM MUM MUM” she screamed out with fear. But
little did she know her mum couldn't hear her. Then she saw the mirror
move, it looked like water was the reflection. She touched it, and it pulled
her hand through, she felt something touch her hand.

“Come on, don't be shy, come closer” whispered the mirror. She shook her
head with fear and screamed “MUMMM” with a shattered voice. But then
she remembered that she couldn't get out so she thought maybe that's the
only way out, so she went through the mirror and came out in the upside
down. There were these kinds of monsters called demogorgons. She was
down there scared in the toxic air for 2 weeks. Then she heard a scream
“Nancy where are you come back to the hole I can pull you out” Called
Joice. She saw her mum's hand shaking with fear, she ran towards her
mother with relife. She got out but her and her mum were stuck in the
cupboard. Then Jim Hopper came to the rescue; he was the chief police
of Hawkins bay (where they live). He pulled them out and they were all
safe but Nancy was struck with hard core trauma. With that truma came
with nightmares every night and episodes of the past in her brain, they
caused her to a lot of stress and high blood pressure.

Have you ever been in your attic?
If so was there a mirror?

Flames Of The Holy Spirit

Last week we learnt about Pentecost. Pentecost is a very important time of the year for Christians. Its was when the disciples were praying and the holy spirit came upon them.  There were flames above there heads and they could talk all different languages. The holy spirit made them talk all different languages so they could tell the rest of the world about Jesus and the wonderful miracles he did. For our create task we had a choice to do either a collage, play or drama some Art about Pentecost or a poem/song about it. I chose to do Pentecost Art. I drew a dove the put flames in 3D pattern around it with blue sky's. Now it is being displayed in the school office at the front desk. Here are some pictures of it Please give feedback since it took a long time thanks.

Have you ever done art a little like this?

Covid 19

Coronavirus

Hi my name is Caoimhe and it's 2020. 2020 was when
coronavirus hit the world. Coronavirus or (covid 19) is a
virus just like the flu and its infected almost 5 million
people but not as much as the spanish flu it infected over
50 million. Sadly over 300k have died but 1.69 million people
have recovered and are back to full health. When
coronavirus hit the world most countries went into
lockdown or quarantine. That is when you have to stay
home, not see anyone except family and only go out for walks and to the supermarket but you have to stay 2
meters apart from people.

My maths week eight

For our maths this week we are learning how to round numbers to
1000, 100 and 10. You could do a screencastify or a poster. It shows
you the strategies I used and some examples you can do in your spare time.

Have you ever done something like this?
