Writing

 Paper plane instructions

For writing this week we had to make a set of instructions for someone else to follow. The instructions had to 150 words or less and no more than 8 steps long. The instructions I wrote were how to make a paper plane.

Here is what I created.

Have you ever made a paper plane?

Making a slingshot

 Making a slingshot

This week for reading we were learning how to follow instructions. We had to pick instructions off the hub site without knowing what the final product would be. My instructions led to a slingshot.

Here are the photos of me making it step by step and the end product.

Happiness and hobbies

 Happiness and hobbies

For reading this week the kaupeka hub a focusing on hobbies (your interests / your passions). For the reading task we got to choose to either create a  top 10 poster about our top ten hobbies, a "how to" for your favourite hobby, invent a new hobby, Write an article about fun hobbies to do in lock down or a poster about the most popular hobby in 20 years time. I chose to write the article, I created it on canva and the hobbies I chose to write about were cooking, baking, sports training, learning a new instrument and art projects.

Here is my article.

Maths Factors & multiples

 Maths factors & multiples

L4: Identify factors of numbers to 100.

L4: Find common multiples of numbers to 10.

For this weeks maths task we had to complete two worksheets take a picture of them and add them to our blogs. then we had to make a step by step guide of how to solve the questions/learning goals. The fist worksheet was about identifying factors of number up to 100 and the second one was finding multiples and common multiples of numbers.

The questions on the first worksheet were:

figure out the factors of these numbers:
24 = 1, 4, 6, 8, 12, 3, 2
23 = 1
44 = 1, 22, 2, 4, 11
11 = 1
15 = 1, 3, 5
56 = 1, 7, 8, 2, 28, 4, 14
86 = 1, 2, 43
49 = 1, 7

The questions on the second worksheet were:

figure out the first four multiples in these numbers
3 = 3, 6, 9, 12
2 = 2, 4, 6, 8
9 = 9, 18, 27, 36
6 = 6, 12, 18, 24

figure out the common multiples in these numbers
1 & 8 = 8,16
6 & 3 = 6,12
10 & 4 = 20,40

Here is my "how to" poster

Have you ever done these learning goals?

A Potion Of Happiness

 Writing week 6

For writing this week we are working on poems we either had to create a Haiku, Rhymed, Riddle or shape poem. I chose to do the rhymed one, if you did end up choosing to write a rhymed poem you had to write it about a potion so a lucky potion, wicked potion or a friendship one etc. I wrote about a happiness potion.

Here is my poem:

Have you ever wrote a rhyming poem?

Growth Mindset

 Growth Mindset

During the past few weeks the kaupeka hub has been learning about growth mindsets and happiness. This week for our reading task we had to find someone in this world who has shown grit and perseverance through struggles. I chose Anna Grimaldi, She was born without her right arm and showed grit by going on and winning a gold medal at the 2016 Paralympic games for Long Jump, while representing New Zealand . I decided to choose her because I really liked her story and how it inspired me.

 For my create I displayed what a positive and negative mindset looks like, I added quotes and a little blurb about Anna Grimaldi and her story. I included an article about How having a positive attitude helps you overcome life's challenges.  And added an article about Anna Grimaldi

Here is my poster

Do you have a growth mindset?

Inner peace

Inner Peace Reading

This week for reading we were focusing on inner peace, we had to find what our inner peace is and display it on a peace symbol that we had to colour in. We also had to find an article about it. On my peace symbol I used all the colours and wrote what makes me happy, what my inner peace is, I wrote friends, family, laughing and having fun.

                                                   Here is a picture of my peace symbol.

My inner peace looks like laughing, spending times with my friends, living out my passions, playing sport and my pets.

What is your inner peace?
