Gardening in a Jar

For term 1 our hubs PBL question was "How can our actions contribute to building community",
So everyone in my hub made jolly jars for the school fair. I made herb in a jar. the teachers
assigned groups for us to work in in my group I had Saffy, Maz and Lincoln.

Here is a link to my instructions

I learnt that  instructions need to show you what materials you need to use, and step by step
instructions on how to make that product. You have to be very specific otherwise people will
do it wrong.

Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar’s my group made herb in a jar. Its a jar with sand, rocks, soil and seeds to grow
herbs. There's also instructions to show you how to make the herbs grow. We made little paper
holders for the seeds and instructions. We also made our own logos.

I contributed to my group by getting the soil to make the jars, helping paint the jar lids,  packing
the jars and even making the signs.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because we painted the lids and crafted the signs with paper and
glue. We also made our own logo with logo maker.

What I learned about working with others was they might not always do things your way but
when you take in their ideas it can somethings work out for the best.

We built community through our actions by making a cute and useful gift to give to friends and
family. It's helping the community because you don't need a garden to grow your favourite
herbs, you can just grow it with your herb in a jar.

If you could make a garden in a jar what would you put in it?
